Counselor / Program Specialist - 2019 Summer Camp - Goochland / Powhatan

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking energetic and responsible individuals to work as Camp Counselors and Program Specialists for our summer day camp programs located in our Powhatan/Goochland areas for grades K-8. We are looking for seasonal (part-time, up to 40 hours/week) and regular (part-time, up to 27 hours/week) employees.

Summer Camp Counselors and Program Specialists have the opportunity to positively impact hundreds of youth in our community. We are looking for dependable role models who love to have fun! In camp, you will be responsible for the well-being of your campers and providing a safe, engaging environment for them.
Successful candidates must be 18 years old with a high school diploma/GED.
Counselors must have at least six months of youth development experience.
College level courses and CPR/AED/First Aid are highly desirable.
Candidates must attend a group interview to be hired. Select one of the dates below, mark your calendar, and then simply attend the interview! Everyone who applies is invited. Please note that the interview location you select does NOT necessarily indicate the camp location you prefer/will be assigned to. Final camp locations will be based on your preferences and staffing needs of each camp. Prior to your interview candidates will be sent an official confirmation email that includes information about the group interview and what you need to bring with you.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
